As part of the partnership, Gearbox and 2K will enable Redbubble Group’s user base to develop officially-licensed fan art based on their “Borderlands” gaming franchise. Designs will then be offered for sale on over 90 products to fans all over the world.

“Our fan art community has always been very active and passionate about creating and sharing their original works,” says Erica Hollinshead Stead, director of licensing, Gearbox Software. “We are very grateful to have the energy that fan artists bring to our game and to be able to see the personal connections and contributions that our community members make. We’ve often dreamed for a bigger way than we could celebrate and give back to our fan artists, and with the Redbubble collaboration, we’ll be able to invite creators into our Borderlands family in a new way.”

The fourth installment of one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time, “Borderlands 3” will be available for purchase at midnight on Sept. 13. The partnership, brokered by Borderlands licensing agent Retail Monster, begins with a fan art challenge hosted on Redbubble.com that runs until October 13.

"Borderlands 3" Consumer Products program also includes partnerships with Funko, Minted Labs, Just Funky and The Coop.
