Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade are making their first foray into childrenswear with a new limited edition line of boys' and girls' apparel and accessories at GapKids.

The Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade for GapKids childrenswear collection will launch in select Gap stores in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Hong Kong, Japan and online Oct. 30 and will only be available for two weeks.

The collection blends the playful feminine twists of Kate Spade New York and the energetic charm of Jack Spade with GapKids' American style.

"Collaborating with iconic American brands such as Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade is a way of bringing style and optimism to the GapKids customer," says Rebekka Bay, creative director and executive vice president, Gap Global Design. "We really wanted to celebrate the best of all three brands, the casualness of GapKids, the playfulness and prettiness of Kate Spade New York and the quirkiness of Jack Spade."

Inspiration for the collection was taken from the designers' collection archives and includes recreations of signature pieces from the past, downsized and in fabrics more suited to children's play.

Among the items included in the line are dresses, sweatshirts, button down tops, winter accessories and tech cases.

"I couldn't think of a better partner than Gap to collaborate with on a children's collection," says Deborah Lloyd, chief creative officer, Kate Spade & Company. "Their colorful and playful spirit aligns perfectly with ours, and they've helped us realize our vision of dressing little ones head-to-toe in Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade for their next big adventure."
