Konami Cross Media NY has announced two new licensing agreements for its popular IP Bomberman and Contra.
One deal for the Bomberman license comes from Neamedia. The licensee will develop 3D figurines inspired by the fan-favorite video game property. Bomberman figures will be available in specialty, mass and online retailers globally in time for the holiday shopping. The Bomberman figures will be part of a new publishing label called Neamedia Icons.
The second partnership focuses on both the Contra and Bomberman IP. As part of a deal with The Yetee, Hawaiian style shirts, hats, t-shirts and screen-printed posters inspired by the IP will debut in Q1 2021. Additionally, the company will make Contra action figures featuring Bill Rizer and Lance Bean.
“We are pleased to be working with these two highly creative and collaborative partners,” says Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, Konami Cross Media NY. “Neamedia has a reputation for pushing creative boundaries and creating visually stunning figurines and The Yetee is a gaming fan-favorite thanks to their inspired designs and fun product lines that enthusiasts cannot resist.”
The new deals add to Konami’s growing list of licensees for Bomberman and Contra. Last year, the company announced a slate of board games for the IP with Blacklist Games and IDW Games.
