The teen fashion retailer will add new product categories next year with the help of IHL Group.

NORTH AMERICA–Authentic Brands Group has secured a multi-year license agreement with IHL Group, which will see the company produce intimate apparel for the teen retailer Aéropostale.

The teen retailer’s initial intimates’ collection will include bras, sports bras, babydolls, bodysuits and panties. Further details regarding the range have not been released; however, IHL Group will debut its first collection of products at Aéropostale during the 2018 holiday season.

The agreement also marks a milestone in Aéropostale efforts to extend the brand into new categories and distribution channels throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.

“There are many synergies between IHL Group and Aéropostale,” says Ken Ohashi, executive vice president, lifestyle brands, ABG. “We are excited to be working together to grow the brand and expand distribution with a trendsetting collection of intimates and undergarments.”

Authentic Brands Group, in collaboration with General Growth Properties and Simon Property Group, purchased the Aéropostale brand last year with a $243.3 billion bid during a bankruptcy auction. Since then, the company has re-opened more than 500 Aéropostale retail locations across the U.S. and is continuing to make strides forward in expanding the classic teen apparel brand.
