Owens is on board to style a new range of legwear to coincide with the brand’s mobile concept store.
GLOBAL–Birkenstock has partnered with designer Rick Owens to create a capsule collection and design its mobile retail concept, Birkenstock Box.
The partnership will see Owens create a limited collection of Birkenstock styles (including the Arizona, Madrid and Boston) in different fabrics. Owens will also develop two legwear styles.
Meanwhile, the Birkenstock Box, a retail concept designed by Gonzalez Haase AAS, consists of converted freight containers and travels around the globe to host a variety of design concepts and collaborations. The Rick Owens Birkenstock Box will be the first stop in the U.S. and will carry the capsule collection, a curated assortment of Rick Owens apparel, furniture, objects and accessories. The space will also be outfitted to look like Owens’ New York flagship store.
The Rick Owens x Birkenstock styles will be available for pre-order, beginning March 1, and will launch on all Rick Owens and Birkenstock channels, March 15.
