The pop-up event will also include on-site activations and additional merchandise.
EUROPE–Colette is going out with a bang. The concept store, which announced it would close its doors at the end of year, will feature a new collaboration between Chanel and musician and fashion designer Pharrell Williams in November.
The collaboration, which will feature a line of sneakers, is part of Chanel’s month-long takeover of the concept store’s first floor, which will launch Oct. 30, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
The new line will include the launch of an Adidas Hu NMD shoe customized by Williams and marks the first time Williams has designed a product for the design label.
Other exclusives from Chanel’s takeover of the concept store’s first floor include limited edition t-shirts designed by Karl Lagerfeld, creative director at Chanel, and a music compilation by Michel Gaubert, who designs the soundtracks for Chanel’s runway shows. Items from the fall collection will also be available.
Chanel will also host a series of events throughout November at the retailer. Brand ambassador Caroline de Maigret will host a talk on style and allure, while journalist Daphné Hézard will sit down with a friend of the brand from the worlds of film, literature, music and dance every Tuesday and Thursday for a podcast. In addition, Chanel’s creative makeup and color designer Lucia Pica will deliver a beauty talk.
Other events planned for the takeover event include makeup tutorial workshops held every Friday, live-action painting by American graffiti artist Futura 2000 and a showcase concert by the French-Cuban group Ibeyi.
