The Limited returns to retail with expanded offerings spanning petite, tall and plus-size–a first for the brand.
NORTH AMERICA–After filing for bankruptcy and shuttering its retail operations in January, fashion retailer The Limited will return as an in-store brand at department store chain Belk this month.
Under the terms of the agreement, Belk will serve as the exclusive distributor for The Limited brand and will manage it as an exclusive, private brand.
Furthermore, The Limited re-launch will see the fashion brand once again offer “boardroom-ready looks” and “fashion-forward designs” in petite, tall and denim, as well as plus-size–a first for the brand.
The deal also marks The Limited’s return to retail. Earlier this year, the retailer shuttered all of its 250 stores nationwide. At the time, the company’s posting said that the chain’s website would continue to be open for business; however, the company shut down its online retail operations shortly after the announcement.
"The Limited provides customers with tailored, feminine looks to seamlessly carry the modern woman from work to her social life," says Nadine Rauer, executive vice president and general merchandise manager, Belk. "We're committed to not only delivering the products that The Limited is known for, but also expanding the assortment to take this iconic brand to the next level."
The Limited is currently available in 150 Belk stores across 16 states, as well as online via TheLimited.com. In 2018, Belk is slated to launch The Limited in an additional 74 stores.
