King Features Syndicate has expanded its Brazilian licensing program by partnering with local agent Vertical Licensing Brazil.
Vertical Licensing will oversee regional licensing deals for King properties including Popeye and Betty Boop. The agency has already played a role in uncovering licensing agreements including:
- Loungerie (intimates);
- UP Import/ABR Art (fashion bags);
- Forum (perfume and nail polish) ;
- Clio (Backpacks) and
- Tilibra's (Notebooks).
- Brasterápica (children’s vitamins);
- Pernambucanas (apparel);
- Riachuelo (apparel);
- Lojas Renner (apparel) and
- Chico Rei (apparel);
- Tilbra (notebooks) and
- Ludi/Imaginarium (gifts).
King Features’ new deals come during a celebratory time for the company. Popeye’s 90th birthday came in 2019, and Betty Boop will quickly follow with its own anniversary in 2020.
