At the age of seven, Gabby Goodwin invented GaBBY Bows, the first and only double-face, double-snap barrette, with her mom, and has been inspiring and empowering girls with the confidence to dream big since. The now 17-year-old chief executive officer has partnered with Invisible Universe to create a line of hair accessories with Serena Williams’ Qai Qai with butterfly clips the first hair accessory to launch.
“Collaborating with the GaBBY Bows team was a no-brainer for us,” says Tricia Biggio, co-founder, chief executive officer, Invisible Universe, the company behind the internet sensation and animated franchise, Qai Qai. “Qai Qai and Gabby are both Black female voices looking to inspire confidence, creativity and self-love to their audiences, and we couldn’t be more excited to be their first licensed product to date.”
“I am super grateful for this opportunity to partner with Mrs. Serena and hope this builds more girls’ confidence and inspires them to follow their dreams and achieve their goals,” says Goodwin.
GaBBY Bows was the 2023 License This! Competition Winner at Licensing Expo in 2023 and its parent company, Confidence by GaBBY Goodwin, was in the 2023 cohort of the Licensing International Diversity and Inclusion Accelerator.
