American Greetings Properties has signed two new deals for its classic brands Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears.

KFC will feature Strawberry Shortcake for the third time in a row in a QSR promotion in China, and Budge Studios has developed the first-ever app for the Care Bears.

The KFC kids’ meal promotion in China–which was negotiated by AGP’s licensing agent in the country, Medialink–will feature Strawberry Shortcake-branded LCD wrist watches at more than 4,200 KFC restaurants on the mainland during China’s Children’s Month, celebrated in June.

In conjunction with this partnership AGP has also renewed its contract with Clevertime to release a new line of Strawberry Shortcake watches throughout China.

“KFC has been a great partner in China and significantly increased the awareness for Strawberry Shortcake, so we’re thrilled to team up with them again,” says Carla Silva, vice president of global licensing, AGP. “The timing for this promotion is ideal, and we are honored to be part of the country’s Children’s Month celebrations. ”

AGP has also announced the launch of the first Care Bears app–“Care Bears”–developed by Budge Studios.

The new app lets users create and share their own individual Care Bear postcards with personalized messages. Kids can select their favorite Care Bear or create their own, import photos to add personalized faces and decorate backgrounds and borders with accessories, stickers and stamps.

“Care Bears Create & Share!” is available for free now for iOS devices, with an Adroid version coming soon.
